The Guild meeting on 17th January 2022 has been cancelled in the interest of keeping everyone safe from Covid.
There will be a church service on Sunday 9th January, 2022 and it will be in church, not in the hall as previously planned. There will be NO soup lunch. Please note that the new time is 11 a.m.
The Scottish Government currently advises us to stay at home as much as possible to limit the number of contacts we have. In light of this and to keep everyone safe, we have decided to cancel in church worship at St Vigeans on 2nd January and will produce an online video instead. We continue to review the situation, so please refer to the website, church calendar and Facebook for updates about the following week.
However, if you do wish to attend a service in church on 2nd January, there will be church services at Friockheim at 10.00am and at Inverkeilor at 11.30am to which you are all welcome. In light of the ever increasing incidence of the recent strain of Covid, the church has decided to cancel the Sunday service (which was to be in the hall) on Boxing Day (26th December). A video of worship produced by our Moderator, Rev Peter Phillips, will be available online instead.
The Family Christingle service (in the church) at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve will still go ahead and we hope to see you all there. Please take a lateral flow test before attending and, if negative, adhere to the stricter Covid guidelines once you are at church. We want everyone to stay well and enjoy their Christmas time without illness or enforced isolation. Precautions we are taking to keep all our members and friends safe.
1) If you are anxious, stay at home. We’ll miss you but we’d rather you be safe. 2) If you are coming to services, please take a lateral flow test before you come and, of course, stay away should you be positive. 3) If you have any covid-like symptoms, do not come. 4) As you arrive at church, sanitise your hands thoroughly and wear your face covering throughout. 5) We need you to be diligent in maintaining social distancing and that means that for the time being, we need to ask you to stay within family bubbles etc. This is a simple measure to limit mixing between households. 6) Hospitality, coffee after service etc., is on hold until further notice, for the same reason. 7) Though no one enjoys draughts etc, we must continue to ventilate the sanctuary and therefore to keep doors open etc. The winners of the quiz are first, Barbara Gourlay, and second, Liz Lawson. Here is the song sheet for Carols in the Park. It would be a good idea to download it to your devices so it can be more easily read on them when it begins to get dark. ![]()
Covid regulations are under review and we await further guidelines from the Church of Scotland.
We are collecting for Send a Cow this year again, instead of sending each other Christmas Cards. Donations will be accepted over the next few weeks.
