Sorry this has been posted here a bit too late. The website editor did get the email just on time to be able to post it just on time, but unfortunately she was otherwise occupied until the event was past. However, here is the information and if you feel you want to make a donation to Crossreach, the information is included in the email. Please accept apologies for Heather Lockhart's tardiness.
Dear Friends
We trust that you are managing to stay safe and well during this extraordinary time.
We also hope that you might be interested in taking in part in our Guild Souper Sunday, this Sunday 26th April at 12.30pm
We appreciate that people are really missing the fellowship of meeting together with Guild members and friends at the moment and we know that many of you would be involved in organising soup lunches if you were able to get out and about.
So...we would like to suggest that this Sunday at 12.30pm that we all have our very own Souper Sunday in our own homes and think of those who we would normally be sharing our lunch with.
It would be great if you could share your Souper Sunday pictures with us on the Guild Facebook page or send to us at [email protected] and we will happily put them on.
We are doing this too as part of the 2.6 challenge for CrossReach so we would love if 260 people could take part and if you felt you could at this time, make a donation to CrossReach who are doing such an amazing job caring for very vulnerable people during this Covid emergency.
You can donate to their JustGiving page by clicking here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/churchofscotlandguild260soupchallenge?utm_source=Sharethis&utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=churchofscotlandguild260soupchallenge&utm_campaign=pfp-email&utm_term=061649fd3c734876bfc693b8644dd4e2.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to CrossReach, Church of Scotland Social Care, so it's the most efficient way to give - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
We hope that this is something you might want to get involved in. Please feel free to circulate this email widely.
Every blessing
Karen
