When my nephew Olly - who used to attend Toddlers at Knox’s - was born, he had oesophageal atresia, a rare birth defect that affects a baby's oesophagus. His oesophagus wasn't connected his stomach, meaning he couldn't swallow at all. He had complex corrective surgery at Edinburgh Children’s Hospital when he was just days old.
Olly is now 6 years old and has a charity place to run in the Edinburgh Marathon (junior race) on 25th May for the Edinburgh Children’s hospital charity.
The care and support provided by the charity and hospital was amazing when he and his parents needed it, and he hopes to raise some funds so families in similar situations can be given the same care and support.
He currently has a ‘Name The Teddy’ game sheet, with a prize of a craft studio voucher for 2 (Broughty Ferry). Cost is £1 per square... If anyone would like one, please contact Louise directly, either as a comment on the Toddlers' FaceBook page or by email to the Toddlers' email address.
